Should I go backpacking with my girlfriend again?
My girlfriend and her two friends were all backpacking guides in college, and the four of us went a couple weeks ago – it was my first trip. It was a little bit humiliating – she obviously knows way more about it than I do, which is embarrasing to begin with, and to finish the trail on time, she had to carry my pack (both of our packs) for a while. They want me to come again next weekend, but I’m hesitant. Should I go?
Definitely go! But plan better this time. Decrease your pack weight so that you can finish the trail unassisted. The more you pack, the better you will get at it. Good for you for having the courage to try something new and keep at it until you reach your goal.
